Through my experiences working with a potpourri of body types, guiding students toward kinetic awareness, I've come to follow these guiding principles:

 

- Our bodies want to be in optimal condition

- Our thoughts and feeling are keystones of our physical health

- Every body is unique

 

I design an individualized program according to my students' current physical fitness with immediate and long term goals. With time and conscious effort we will: 

 

* Breath effectively

* Establish healthy posture

* Increase range of movement

* Integrate breath with movement    

* Improve balance

* Increase flexibility

* Develop a strong and supple spine

* Refine coordination and rhythm

* Strengthen core

* Enhance grace and poise

* Build stamina

* Develop mind-body connection

The hour-long sessions take place in my private studio, in a trusting environment, with state-of-the-art Stott Pilates equipment. In addition, hanging silks may be used to facilitate spinal decompression and alignment. Silks can be soothing and gentle but also strenuous and challenging.  When my students move with joy, they love life! My students find their personal power through the development of physical intelligence and joy of movement, ultimately enhancing self-esteem and confidence. Nothing excites me more than to witness this transformation. I am a certified Stott Pilates instructor, a professional dancer, and practiced in Aerial Yoga with an M.A. in Dance Therapy from New York University.
